COVID-19 TO PLUNGE GLOBAL ECONOMY INTO WORST RECESSION SINCE WORLD WAR II: The swift and 
massive shock of the Coronavirus pandemic and shutdown measures to contain it have plunged the global economy into a severe contraction.  According to the World Bank forecasts, the global economy will shrink by 5.2% this year.  That would represent the deepest recession since the Second World War, with the largest fraction of economies experiencing declines in per capita output since 1870.

NETFLIX’S $100 MILLION PLAN TO BOOST BLACK LENDERS: We have the first look at a new move to help
bridge the racial economic divide in America: Netflix will shift some of its $5 billion in cash to financial institutions that focus on black communities. Netflix will bank up to 2 percent of its holdings, or about $100 million, with such lenders.

AGERO TO CREATE 900 JOBS IN TENNESSEE: Agero, Inc. plans to invest $2 
million to expand its operations in Clarksville, TN and create 900 jobs by 2025. To support this growth, Agero has expanded its Montgomery County operations by nearly 14,000 square feet. “The city of Clarksville has proven to provide a wealth of talent, with hardworking, dedicated and driven residents that continue to support this location as Agero’s largest call center,” said Chris Richard, VP, Contact Center Operations, Agero.

RAMSEY SOLUTIONS CREATING 600 MORE JOBS ON FRANKLIN CAMPUS:

CEO Dave Ramsey announced Monday that Ramsey Solutions will invest $52 million to expand its corporate headquarters in Franklin and create 600 jobs. Ramsey Solutions will build a second office building, totaling nearly 192,000 square feet and six stories, on its corporate campus in Williamson County.

NETHERLANDS, KENTUCKY PARTNERING TO CREATE AMERICA’S AGTECH CAPITAL IN APPALACHIA: AppHarvest, which is building one of the world’s 

largest controlled environment agriculture facilities, announced today it has brought together more than a dozen organizations, including the governments of the Netherlands and Kentucky as well as universities and private companies, to commit to the creation of America’s AgTech capital in Appalachia.

$120B FEDERAL RELIEF PACKAGE FOR INDEPENDENT RESTAURANTS COULD HELP KENTUCKY RESTAURATEURS LEFT BEHIND BY PPP:  Today, the 

Independent Restaurant Coalition (IRC) released the following statement on the Restaurants Act, a bipartisan $120 billion relief package specifically for independent restaurants introduced today by Sen. Roger Wicker (R-MS) in the Senate and Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-OR 3) in the House.

WEST VIRGINIA
 

NEW MANUFACTURING FACILITY TO BRING JOBS TO WEST VIRGINIA:  The
Clorox Company will move forward with plans to construct its newest manufacturing facility in West Virginia after receiving approval from the Berkeley County Planning Commission. West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice says the site will bring 100 jobs and $190 million in economic impact to the Eastern Panhandle.
