Keynote Luncheon Speaker

LANDING Dennis headshotDENNIS P. KIMBRO, Ph.D.

Few individuals impact the day-to-day management of organizations and institutions as much as Dr. Dennis Paul Kimbro. A tireless educator, author, B-school professor, certified trainer, and leadership coach, Dr. Kimbro is universally characterized as one of the most insightful and scholarly writers in the field today.
In high demand as a public speaker, he is a best-selling author of five books, writing partner and master trainer for the prestigious Napoleon Hill Foundation, and is on the faculty at Clark Atlanta University School of Business Administration. He is a recipient of the Dale Carnegie Personal Achievement award.

As a lecturer and researcher in the field of management, entrepreneurship and human potential, he encourages his readers to look within to extract the keys that underlie all accomplishment. He received his B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Oklahoma, and a doctorate from Northwestern University where he studied wealth and poverty among underdeveloped countries. With his course work behind him, Dr. Kimbro combed the country interviewing scores of America’s most notable achievers gleaning the best ideas, strategies and success principles from their words. He’s heard the same things enough times to know that all people who succeed tend to follow the same path and that all people who have not succeeded yet tend to fall into the same pit over and over again. Eventually his research led to the question: How can impoverished black Americans pull themselves out of their poverty and reach
their full potential?

Supplier Diversity: Does it Really Matter?

LANDING-Richard-headshotThis workshop will address the “proverbial elephant in the room” expression for an obvious truth of diversity that is being ignored or goes unaddressed; turning a blind eye (ignoring); but impossible to overlook. Some of us pretend the elephant is not there; compared to the looming big one, that is there. It will include six panelists, representing former/current industry experts and contemporary entrepreneurs …. who have no qualms in telling it like it is. ”What is said in this session, will stay in this session.”

Challenge: Diversity in many business organizations is one of many challenges confronting firms in dynamic business environments. Today’s marketplace is a dynamic mix of different cultures, races, lifestyles, genders and more. These visible demographic differences, as well as emerging market realities, continuously create new customer needs. Thus, managing diversity has become an issue in business practice.

Question: While it is recognized that proper management of supplier relationships is an essential element of supply chain success, is this merely theoretical or does it really matter?

Moderator: Richard Manson, J.D., President & CEO, SourceMark, LLC
