Mark your calendars now for the 2013 Business Networking Summit to be held on Friday, June 7th at the Seneca Golf Course. This is a change for the event which has traditionally been held in the fall. It is hoped that this will allow more players to attend as they will not be contending with fall evening activities such as leagues and school events.
The council is now accepting sponsors as well as donations for the goody bags, which are given to each player. To date, sponsors include: Gold Sponsors LG&E and KU Energy, LLC and Greater Louisville, Inc., Silver Sponsor Kentucky Lottery Corporation as well as Bronze Sponsors Commerce Lexington, Jefferson County Public Schools, KY Community & Technical College System, Kroger, Louisville Water Company and YUM! In the summer of 2012, Tierra Kavanaugh Turner, CEO and founder of TKT & Associates, Inc., created a franchise partnership with Nectir, a national staffing franchise organization, to operate as TKT-Nectir Global Staffing, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of TKT & Associates, Inc. TKT-Nectir Global Staffing, LLC provides contingent staffing, contract-to-hire services, direct-hire services and rapid deployment staffing for local and regional companies in Kentucky, Indiana, Missouri, Illinois, Ohio, and neighboring states.
TriVersity Construction Group was founded in 2005 as a partnership of CM-GC, MBJ Consultants Inc. and Messer Construction Co. The three firms had partnered through joint ventures on projects over the years and decided to formalize the relationship through the creation of the new company. While in 2009, Eric Browne and Dr. Melvin Gravely purchased controlling interest of Tri-Versity, which insured it will continue to be a certified minority business enterprise, Messer retained its 33% ownership.
On Tuesday, June 11, both Tierra Kavanaugh Turner and Stan Williams, Economic Inclusion Vice President of Messer Construction will speak frankly about their experience in forming partnerships, the advantages and pitfalls and the steps that made their partnerships successful. The registration for this event includes a full breakfast and all materials. The cost of the event is $10 for TSMSDC Certified MBEs and $15 for the public. To register, contact TSMSDC at sruark@tsmsdc.com or 502-625-0147.
