Providing a direct link between corporate America and minority owned businesses is the primary objective of the National Minority Supplier Development Council, one of the country’s leading business membership organizations. It was chartered in 1972 to provide increased procurement and business opportunities for minority businesses of all sizes.
The NMSDC Network includes a National Office in New York and 24 regional councils across the country. There are 3,500 corporate members throughout the network, including most of America’s largest publicly-owned, privately-owned and foreign-owned companies, as well as universities, hospitals and other buying institutions. The regional councils certify and match more than 15,000 minority owned businesses (Asian, Black, Hispanic and Native American) with member corporations which want to purchase goods and services.
The Tri-State Minority Supplier Development Council recently merged with the Tennessee Minority Supplier Development Council to create the TriState Minority Supplier Development Council. We are still affiliated with NMSDC and are one of the 24 councils nationwide that link corporations with minority owned businesses. Regionally, we serve more than 200 major corporations and approximately 500 minority businesses in Tennessee, Kentucky, and West Virginia.
TriState MSDC offers its members and clients an extensive integrated network of resources. For our corporations, we serve as a source of contact and information. In addition, we help member corporations identify certified minority business enterprises, and provide assistance in developing and implementing minority supplier development programs.
We assist minority business enterprises (MBEs) in establishing valuable business contacts and offer a wide range of services to help entrepreneurs grow their businesses.
